America in 1904: What a Difference a Century Makes! It's amazing how much, and how little, things change over time. Take a look at America a shade over a century ago (1904) based on a series of one-line statistics shared during a history lecture at the University of California, Berkeley: The average life expectancy in the U.S.was 47 years old. Only 14 percent of the homes in the U.S. had a bathtub. Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone. A three-minute call from Denver to New York City cost only $11. There were only 8,000 cars in the U.S. and only 144 miles of paved roads. The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph. Alabama, Mississippi, Iowa, and Tennessee were each more heavily populated than California; with a mere 1.4 million residents, California was only the 21st most populous state in the Union. The Eiffel Tower was the tallest structure in the world. The average wage in the U.S. was 22 cents an hour. The average U.S. worker made between $200-$400 a year. A competent accountant could expect to earn $2,000 a year; a dentist $2,500 a year; a veterinarian between $1,500-$4,000 a year; and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 a year. More than 95 percent of all births in the U.S. took place at home. Ninety percent of all U.S. physicians didn't have a college education; instead, they attended medical schools, many of which were condemned in the press and by the government as "substandard." Sugar cost 4 cents a pound (and less than 6 pounds per year were consumed per person on average in processed foods or drinks); eggs were 14 cents a dozen; coffee cost 15 cents a pound. Most women only washed their hair once a month and used borax or egg yolks for shampoo. Canada passed a law prohibiting poor people from entering the country for any reason. The five leading causes of death in the U.S. were: 1. Pneumonia and influenza 2. Tuberculosis 3. Diarrhea 4. Heart disease 5. Stroke The American flag had 45 stars: Arizona, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Hawaii and Alaska hadn't been admitted to the Union yet. The population of Las Vegas, Nevada was 30. Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and iced tea hadn't been invented. There was no Mother's Day or Father's Day. One in 10 U.S. adults couldn't read or write. Only 6 percent of all Americans were high school graduates. Coca Cola contained cocaine. Marijuana, heroin and morphine were all available over the counter at corner drugstores. According to one pharmacist, "Heroin clears the complexion, gives buoyancy to the mind, regulates the stomach and the bowels, and is, in fact, a perfect guardian of health." Eighteen percent of households in the U.S. had at least one full-time servant or domestic. There were only about 230 reported murders in the entire U.S.

Hi *******, Well, I should say our meeting went very well yesterday. You seemed at the end to not want it to end, which is like I felt after every Grateful Dead show. Now here comes a big one. Afterwards, I was thinking about how you could show the "labor" in col/labor/ation. I was looking at your fancy colored floppies, when the Dead song "Ripple" struck up in my head: "If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine and my tunes were played on the harp unstrung would you hear my voice come through the music would you hold it near as it were your own?" All of a sudden (and don't you like it when things happen that way?) the words started going from black and white to colored. Colored as to how much labor it took to create them and colored from a different view as to how much history the words had and from a different view as to who wrote them and from yet another view as to the time sequence they were joined. I've was laughing about that and lines of code started appearing in my head and they were colored by labor also (code/labor/ation). Oh dear, here I go again. LOL. On a separate colored note, I've been thinking on how I was going to architect paradise if multiple timelines were involved. You might not like yourself in another timeline. If a single person can exist in multiple timelines, are they the same person? Do they have the same soul? My initial reaction was, I think not. Makes one wonder how many souls get to use each body design. The underlying principle in all these thoughts is compassion. Compassion for every single moment for every sentient being on every time line. Now if there are infinite timelines, then things get really bizarre. And how does one deal with sentient beings with a hive mind? Perhaps the queen ant will know? Too much to think about. My head is splitting open and all these colorful words and thoughts are spilling out. It was hard enough to save all the humans, then I learned I had to save all the universe, and now I have to save multiple concurrent timelines running throughout the universe. Pile it on God, I can handle it. As Jerry Garcia said about giving a benefit concert to save the rain forest, "Somebody has to do something, it is just pitiful that it has to be us." The next time you see a drunk passed out on the street, think again, he might also be saving the universe. What's really pitiful is that everyone is not trying to save the universe.

Great post you made at ED about mind control, UJ! As I understand it “mind control” is very, very, very, very deep... It is not only embedded in the structure of the human Mind itself but the control is also, and above all, made FROM WITHIN, at a spiritual level, or at a pre physical level if you will, BEFORE “our” ideas and thoughts are even conscious to us. Eventually, in the last decades, some areas of the human mind have been restructured and rewired and so external mind control needed also to be strengthened to fight that “awakening”, but the real mind control is made internally since the very inception of human beings. And yes, I completely agree with you on this one... “What needs to be disclosed is what the ET's have been doing here on earth.” Just the word might not be “disclosure” as the word “disclosure” presupposes that knowledge is coming from someone one Earth when in reality it must be Revealed from outside as no one on Earth (pun intend) could know about the extent of what has been happening here... Now... the et’s portrayed in movies do not help either to understand what kind of “et’s” we are talking about... In my opinion the type of et’s of movies AND ufers are also a part of the smoke screen or mind control. We are being manipulated into believing in a controlled picture they want us to believe but that picture is not necessary the true one.... Eventually, we are being acclimated to that distorted idea so we can accept those “et’s” when they’ll return. Even those supposedly in the know may not very well understand the big picture and might also be mind controlled to just take care of the preparations for that return without much knowledge of what might happen next. In that sense, the catastrophe scenario may be used so we can accept with open arms those “et’s” as the only ones capable of preventing or minimizing eventual catastrophic events. In that case, they would be considered as our saviors... ah!... Why else would we be told the “truth” about et’s? “Modern” et’s I mean as all the others seems never existed... : ) Why would manipulation be exercised at all levels except in the case of et’s? It doesn’t make much sense does it? ... Disclosure about what has been happening for fifty years?... Yeah right......... and what about all those years back to millennia?... that seems to be incomparably juicer, don’t you think?... “God knows this and he refuses to help or set things right!” Who do you think is restructuring and enhancing our Minds and making some accommodations for Truth(s) to cross the boundaries of our cage bars? *wink*... “Only by using love can we individually and collectively protect ourselves from this mind control. Yet when a Senate delegation last year called on King Abdullah of Jordan, he counseled, "to stop terrorism the U.S. has to settle the conflict of Israel and Palestine." Again to the same delegation, the prime minister of Kuwait ended the conference warning that "the U.S. must settle the conflict of Israel and Palestine." And President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan ended an hour-long conference by stating to the delegation: "Settle the Israel/Palestine conflict and 85 percent of terrorism in the world will disappear." It's not our values and way of life causing terrorism; it's our policy of support for Israel. Let there be no doubt: The United States will never abandon Israel. But to effectively support Israel, the United States needs to revert to its policy of the honest broker in the Mideast. We maintained this policy with successes from Menachem Begin to Yitzhak Rabin - and almost Ehud Barak. Israeli leaders realized that Israel is an island of freedom in a sea of Islamic hostility. Survival depends upon the peoples learning to live together rather than to kill together. But Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and President Bush changed signals. Sharon, the architect of settlement policy, ignored the agreement to negotiate borders based on the 1967 cease-fire. Sharon is always confident of the military solution. In the Six-Day War, Maj. Sharon reported to Prime Minister Levi Eshkol: "The army is ready . . . to wipe out the Egyptian army. A generation will pass before Egypt threatens us again." Eshkol replied: "Nothing will be settled by a military victory. The Arabs will still be here." Sharon thought overwhelming retaliation would stop terrorism. And Bush let Sharon run free. Now the United States is no longer looked upon as an honest broker. We've been in Iraq now for two years. If the United States stays too long, we will be looked upon as an occupier. Occupation causes resentment. Israel's occupation of Palestine for 38 years not only causes resentment, it creates terrorism. Being dependent on your adversary for light, water and jobs for 38 years breeds resentment, then terrorism. Everybody with any get-up-and-go has got up and gone. Those left are embittered. When one has no uniform, no army and no weapons, attacks upon one with tanks and helicopter gunships cause terrorism. One only has to watch Palestinian youngsters throwing rocks at the helicopters. Bulldozing homes causes terrorism. Bulldoze my Daddy's home and you can count on having created me a terrorist. I'll get you back wherever and whenever the opportunity presents itself. And yes, blowing myself up to do it is not out of the question. Building walls causes terrorism. Preventing me from working for a living causes terrorism. Invading Iraq without cause causes terrorism. We'll never win the war on terror without a better understanding of Islamic culture. In the Arab world, there's one thing stronger than democracy - that's religion. We liberated Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia years ago, and they have yet to opt for democracy. We liberated Kuwait 14 years ago, and it has yet to opt for democracy. Ayatollahs are the best politicians. The only reason we had an election in Iraq is that Ayatollah al-Sistani told them to vote. The Kurds in the north voted for autonomy - keeping their own army, paying no taxes to Baghdad. The best we can hope for is an Islamic democracy like Iran. Send a team of negotiators like former President Clinton and Dennis Ross to Tel Aviv to negotiate. An international peacekeeping force would be better than a wall. Support Sharon in the withdrawal from Gaza. Negotiate the West Bank boundary. Then oversee the G-8's giving $3 billion to build a Palestinian state. Finally, spread democracy through example rather than invasion. No more "with us or against us" and "bring 'em on" childishness. The terrorism war will be won by mature diplomacy supported by economic and military measures. But mostly diplomacy. On my last thread at GLP about “The Eight Veils” someone made this most excellent post. The succession of unveiling reality is eye opening. perhaps, the seventh veil is when the individual becomes truly AWARE that man is merely a reactive creation in body and mind but within he is a something very different. In this he becomes disillusioned with all of his past beliefs, convictions, and goals. In this realization he truly understands how far from ´truth´ the human populace really is and he becomes critical of the earthly system which is based on fullfillment of unreal desire. He critisizes those that judge and condemn. He judges the judges. This level is not to be confused that simply "belief" or adhering to dogmatic religion, this is something very different. Many people believe, but very, very, few are consciously aware of the falseness of this creation as we perceive it. This is something that the student wants to scream out to the rest of the world when he his MADE TO UNDERSTAND IT, but no one understands his words...for the understanding has not been given them, because it is not what they truly seek...they truly seek their God, DESIRE. This man has sought with every ounce of his being to get to this point through countless hours of meditation and stillness of mind. This level is not simply ´given´ it is reached. It comes after a perfectly focused effort to get to the point, not to get to an answer that keeps the student entertained in a circle of futile ´discovery´ of impertinent facts of this world. The circle of entertaining ´facts´ were found on the level of discovering controlled politics, banking, and "evil" aliens. Criticality keeps him at level 7 eight- he wakes up to the reality that the whole is truly perfect because nothing real is happening and nothing real is being harmed or controlled in any way. This is nirvana, the bliss of the guru. He now can sit quietly in total comfort and nothing can disturb him. He does not understand fully ´what´ he is or ´who´, he only knows that he is immortal and is free from the illusory self. The bliss is overwhelming but he cannot express it in words and when he attempts to do so, others distrust him and feel offended in various ways. He discovered the eighth veil after unending determination to be free from the darkness of negative thought. He meditated with discipline, asking only for one thing, Understanding. He was taught breathing and focus through his inner spirit. He found the gates within his soul that were locked and opened them. He breathed out the vile nature that he was mixed with at birth. He has been purified through understanding the perfection of the whole. He has reached this point after releasing the condemning viewpoint he got stuck on in level seven. At this point he questions..."then what shall I DO"? His mind is blank as an infant´s and the words of Christ resound..."become as a little child"...and he UNDERSTANDS THEM because he is experiencing it. He knows not how to judge because he sees no error. He knows only how to respond in his true nature..with love as a baby does. He basks in the love that emanates from within him as if there is an ever burning fire inside that is a well spring that has no end. He understands that love is an energy that is the result of a child processing the ´truth´ of the father. The ´truth´ or ´sound´ passes through the child and the child gives off love. In this he understands that love as humans practice it is only a reciprocation of desires passed back and forth. and that the real love is that which flows freely outward as a tangible light. This energy heals and rejuvenates, but the student does not tell others nor does he feel pride from it, it simply "is". The student remains here until the father takes him through the ninth veil. He has no choice and he understands this clearly. He is free to be and has no encumbrances. nine- I have not experienced the ninth level, but I was taught what it was, It isn´t my time to live at this level. He who passes through the ninth veil remembers his true identity and utilizes the mind of truth to act. Now he can act in his true nature and take an active part in a mortal world and be at total peace for age, death, and pain are meaningless to him. Again, this is not a belief, it is an absolute understanding. He has been taught from the father to reach this stage. His mind is the mind of truth and he knows no other. He acts freely but without desire for anything but "to be" and to lead others to "being". This is a Buddha or a Christ. A free and active being. I just don’t quite agree with the “This is a Buddha or a Christ.” remark. The reason I replied it doesn’t have to be necessary a Buddha or a Christ was to give people hope they too can find out what it is behind the veils. If we say only a Buddha or a Christ can do it people will assume it’s something so out of their reach that they will feel so unworthily to even try. Maybe I should have added this explanation... There are things we just seem not to have words to be able to tell others but we surely recognize them when we see them. I was touched by one of StarryEyes moving posts as of late. We all in this quest for "knowing" are, at any giving moment, at a receiver or at the transmitter end. I suppose it all depends of our own level of understanding to recognize or not what others say and not much what/why/how others say. We all learn in steps with the next step building from the previous so others can be just saying the ultimate truth but if we don't have the knowledge to recognize it we will miss it. I just seem to irritate her. I'm thinking a lot lately about mind control and how Dan gives us clues to how pervasive it is. I posted a summery of "Active Side of Infinity" on Bill's forum and will discuss it further when it is absorbed. Like2Learn, I don't think you have to worry about that source of information. I would prefer to keep all posts to a single topic, just like in the old days of the golden thread.
